Totally Custom = Totally Sweet!!

Most of you know that we photograph people…and that’s what we want you to know.  However, every now and then, we have someone ask us to photograph something a little different.  This is a custom spa built on the deck of a high rise building in the middle of the Galleria area.  It’s pretty sweet!

FUNNY KIDS!

So I had the opportunity to host a field trip at our studio today for 17 kids from Katy’s Early Childhood Enrichment Center (Katy’s ECEC).  We make seasonal portraits for their preschool and Nicole, the owner, asked me a few months ago if I would do this for them.  I wasn’t too sure what to do and exactly what they were expecting for the outing…so I did what I know how to do!  We had a silly face contest and gave each kiddo a 5×7 print to take home and show off.  Thanks kids for being so well behaved and I’m looking forward to seeing your for our fall portrait session!

What’s your favorite silly face?

Seriously Cute!!

I have been making portraits for this family for most of my photographic career.  I have photographed weddings near and far for all 3 daughters, done corporate photography for Dad for years and have photographed every grandchild they have.  Here are 2 images that really make me smile.  Thanks for trusting me to make portraits for you for all of this time!

So Thankful For People Like You

Sometimes it’s easy to forget why we go through the motions of life and what’s important.  I had a late appointment Wednesday night and met a great family.  Mom & Dad were in Texas for a family reunion, Daughter and Son-In-Law live in Katy and Son was in town until the next morning when he was getting on a plane.  They decided it was important to have a family portrait made and so we did.  It was a great session where everyone had a good time.  The time that this family had together in Katy…which wasn’t all too long was very special to everyone.  Especially since Son, Staff Sergeant Larry Daughtry was headed back.  Staff Sergeant Larry Daughtry enlisted in the Army 8 years ago and has had multiple overseas deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq and will be redeploying in the Fall of 2010 for another year.

When Mom started tearing up at the sight of her son being projected on the wall it put things into perspective for me.  I have been making portraits of people for a long time now, and, every now and then I get a reminder of why we do what we do.  It’s not JUST another family portrait or portrait of a soldier that we are making….it turns out to be one of the most prized possessions a person can have.

She’s ready!

Watch out Belize….Audrey is on her way!  We had a great time with the Wright Family making Audrey’s bridal portraits.  She is one of the most laid back brides we have ever seen and this portrait fits her personality to a tee!  Congrats Audrey!

Success!

The Father/Daughter dance last night was a HUGE success!  The girls were dancing up a storm and having a great time!  We were busy all night and made a ton of portraits.  We can’t wait to go back next year!

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was the theme…and these two really got dressed for the party!

Father/Daughter Girl Scout Dance….here we come!

We are getting ready to leave to photograph 250 Father/Daughter couples and can’t wait to see everyone!  We have photographed this dance for several years and always have such a great time.  Rick and I both have daughters and know how special tonight is for each dad.  I hope those girls know how lucky they are to have dad’s that support them and cherish them like I did growing up!

FINALLY!!

We’ve been talking about it for a long time and have put it off for a long time.  But here it is….our new blog!  I’m curious to know what people talk about or want to talk about on blogs.  This is new for us and we don’t want to be ‘just another’ blog or waste of cyberspace.  So the first post is as much for us as it is for you!  Can’t wait to read what’s on your mind!
